Every week around 20 people in the UK are killed and 220 serious injuries are sustained in collisions involving someone who is driving for work.  Employers have a legal duty to manage their employees’ risk on the road in the same way as any other Health and Safety issue to protect them and non-employees alike.

The South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership has developed a one day course for companies with a fleet of drivers which is specifically aimed at improving company policies and reducing the number of collisions. It considers the implications and consequences for businesses, employees and their friends and family when something goes wrong.

The Safer Roads Partnership can also develop bespoke sessions to meet your requirements, looking at the corporate responsibilities of businesses who have employees driving for work by car, van or heavy-goods vehicle, as well as employees riding for work on bicycles to motorbikes/scooters.

We are able to present “real-life” scenarios delivered at the purpose built indoor and outdoor set at the Lifewise Centre in Rotherham, fact based information from experienced officers, unique, powerful role plays and emotional and thought provoking presentations from victims and perpetrators.  The sessions drive home the need for having the correct policies and procedures in place, making drivers and fleet managers think about the many possible legal and emotional implications of an employee being involved in a serious road traffic collision.

For those who have also taken advantage of the free initiatives such as the Eco-Stars fleet recognition scheme or the Eco-Business driver training, this session compliments and consolidates the information you will have already gained and provides a timely reminder of how important it is to have the correct driving policies and procedures in place.
