South Yorkshire Police Cadet Events:

 

September 2015:

Rotherham Show – 12 + 13 September 2015

Rotherham Cadets were invited to support this enjoyable annual event and were paired up with Special Constables to provide assistance to the

vast number of visitors attending over the weekend.  Special Inspector Carl Bree commented “They all acted in a very professional manner and portrayed a good image for young people and South Yorkshire Police”.

 

Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre – 13 September 2015

The Sheffield Junior Cadets enjoyed their first event experience at Whirlow Hall Farm Summer Fayre when they were invited by Special Constable Andrew Bentley to help run a crime prevention stall and assist the Specials.  Andrew commented afterwards  “I feel they presented themselves in an exemplary manner and represented SYP admirably”  The head of events at Whirlow Hall Farm; Sarah Kerrigan also said “ May I take this opportunity to thank you again on behalf of the Trust, your support really makes a difference”.

  

Bluebell Wood Open Day  – 20 September 2015

Doncaster Cadets provided much needed assistance with parking duties during the morning of this very busy day with Barnsley Cadets taking over in the afternoon.  The Open Day was a great success with many visitors to the centre.  Bluebell Wood event fundraiser; Jo berry commented  “I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and the cadets for their outstanding work at our Open Day we have finally got a total for the fundraising on the day an amazing £7000 which is brilliant”.

October 2015:

Bluebell Wood  – Night of Neon Sponsored walk – 24 October 2015

With Bluebell Wood being one of SYP’s chosen charities this year, we were keen for cadets to get involved in as many fundraising events as possible and couldn’t resist the opportunity to help with their first Night of Neon sponsored walk.   Jo Berry commented “… the SY Police Cadets were brilliant on Saturday, although it wasn’t a very long event they did a great job and made sure our walkers were safely ushered away from the Open Water and on to the pathways”.

 

December 2015:

South Yorkshire Young Leaders Annual Challenge – 6 December 2015

This annual event was enjoyed by Cadets from Army, Fire, Sea and Police cadet services.  The High Sheriff; John Holt did us the honour of accepting our invitation and he was impressed by the Cadets enthusiasm whilst taking part in the variety of challenges based on; First Aid, Problem Solving, Communication, and Observation skills.  The Police and Crime Commissioner;  Dr Alan Billings kindly agreed to present the trophy to the winning team who, for the second time running, were the Fire Cadets. The winners also received Amazon Gift Cards generously donated by the High Sheriff.
